Oh how I love blue. It is my new color crush. So much to swoon over really....turquoise, aqua, baby, periwinkle, robin's egg... and so on. I use it in almost every piece I do. So when blue was chosen as the first color for Kristin's Summer of Color, this little lady was very excited. So I whipped out every shade of blue I had & then sat and stared at my journal. I mean, I sat for quite a bit. Just looking at the white page. Nothing. Zip. Blank. So I figured I needed a little more time & went to finish laundry. Oh Joy! :)
So I started to sketch....
Then added some blue acrylic, watercolor crayon, and my fav Faber-Castell Pitt pen (I love these!!) Of course some stamps (I think I have an addiction to clear rubber stamps..anyone else?) & rub ons were added too.

Ahhh, I like her much better.
I am looking forward to this coming week and the color GREEN.
I don't use green much, but I am up for the challenge.
What does the color green make you think of?
i love our first girl, and the second girl has so much aqttitude...love them both...xxx
ReplyDeleteHello Jen! I love the two paintings. I am actually more than contented with your first output. I would love to personally see and touch your art from the heart works :)I'm just curious, what did you do with the first girl?
ReplyDeleteI think I have told you that Blue is my favorite color. This is perhaps the main reason why I enjoyed your art work today. I btw like color green too. I love the shades of blue, green and white. It gives me a feeling of life and tranquility. I will definitely be waiting for your green inspired art works. Have a great art week my friend!
I really like both of these Jen---just a great take on Kristin's challenge. And are you planning on putting all of the colors in the one journal?--great way to explore color all in one book.
ReplyDeleteI love both of them! Really beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I must say we have a lot of the same art product- obsessions! I love the clear stamps, those pens and the color blue. I also love your communication style - you are so much fun to read.
ReplyDeleteNOW, what beautiful work!! I absolutely adore the journal page - her sweet face, whimsical placement and all the detail behind her - just perfect. And the second piece has the most striking eyes - so glad you got your swagger on ;) Looking forward to next week, xoxo

ReplyDeleteBoth your artworks are gorgeous - you have such a lovely whimsical style. They look great with the stamping too.

I love them both but the first one is sooo cute!
ReplyDeleteFunny how certain challenges give us so many ideas we just can't get them out into the open.
Clear stamps? Best things ever!
xx
A great addition to the 'blues'. LOVE the first girl.
ReplyDeleteLove the picture and you know I like blue as you look around my home. The color green reminds me of Oregon, Green Egg & Ham, Christmas Trees, Lime Sherbert and vegetables.
ReplyDeleteI love your gorgeous girlies. Just beautiful! Jessi
