WIP |
I had to find little bits of fleeting moments to create this week.
My "studio" is in an upstairs loft area in our house.
There is no door to shut, so every time I walked by,
my gorgeous art supplies kept calling to me.
"Come play with me." :)
I promise this week I will carve out more time to play.
I did get started on some pieces. I used some wooden plaques that I picked up from Michaels this summer. I love that it already had wire for hanging & a frame. Plus, I really LOVE painting on wood. Do you?? If you do, what kinds of wood do you use? I don't know what it is about the wood, but I think it is my favorite thing to paint on.
WIP...not sure which word to use |
I am very excited to be working on lots of little goodies to restock my Etsy shop too. I am a little rusty with Etsy so any prayers would be greatly appreciated...lol. If you have any suggestions - I would love it!!
I hope you have had a wonderful weekend!
Jen :)
I am joining some very talented artists at Studio JRU's "in the studio",
I am very happy to be in the company of such inspiration!
Glad that art supplies talk to you also... they call out to me all the time. Good luck with the restock !!
ReplyDeleteThe door to my creating room is always calling me to come in...and probably to clean it, too....I will send prayers for your etsy restocking and for you! Happy Sunday night!
ReplyDeleteHi! I love your painting on wood. It makes me want to put flowers in my hair! LOL. I haven't tried painting on wood yet, and I have a couple of neat little house figures that my friend's husband cut out. I've been saving them for after I've practiced a bit. :-) Enjoy your Sunday!
ReplyDeleteHi Jen! I have the opposite problem...I'm ALWAYS in my creating room and I have to pull myself away to do the laundry, etc!! It's actually my dining room right off the kitchen and living room...always available!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your little girls! I'm going to go visit your etsy shop to see what I can get!
Your wip is adorable! Love the wood pieces! Deb
ReplyDeleteLove your wip so far. Sometimes we just have to find the time don't we.
ReplyDeletethis is lovely...i love joy and the flowers in her hair...just gorgeous...good luck with etsy too...xxx
ReplyDeleteLooks good! I'm not that keen with painting on wood though. It's the feel of the surface that I don't like which is a shame since all these lovely thing can be done with it. :)Good luck with etsy. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a creative mind to come up with such wonderful work! Well Done!
ReplyDeleteYour WIP is looking good and it would be hard to walk away from it--once I get started, I can't stop....
ReplyDeleteWow! I love wood too Jen. It's nice to know that you have your own art space at home. You have a space that you can call your own and I'm sure in the next years, you will share that with your kids. :)
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I LOVE your new background - damask and I go way back - I love the elegance that it brings! Secondly, no I have never painted on wood before - I really want to try it - thank you for this beautiful inspiration! I love your close up shots and eagerly await what comes next. xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteI think your JOY-full WIP is wonderful! I love painting on wood too! I paint on any wood I can get my hands on - plaques, scraps, old cupboard doors, anything! I can see why your art was calling to you :)

I like painting on wood too and I also love a challenge so my favourites are bits of scrap wood, odd forms or anything old
