23 days

until Christmas. That's it. 23.

 6 X 8 Canvas Board - WIP
It's funny. when I was a little girl I remember it taking
FOR-ever for Christmas to get here.
Now. I am going to blink and it will be over. Right!?
Luckily, I got an early start on shopping and I am making lots of gifts too.
(Well, my adorable son decided he needed to open one of his wrapped presents. That's what I get for leaving a 2 and a half year old alone with wrapped gifts! Funny part is - when I asked, "Who did this?"
He said...and I quote..."Daddy did it!" So funny.)

In between cleaning up wrapping paper and finding really good hiding places for presents, I did get some painting done. I am still loving the trees (see above),
and I also made a bunch of backgrounds. I used Christmas tissue and
wrapping paper in some of the backgrounds for texture. Love. There are so many yummy ones to choose from too!

Backgrounds to work on!

I hope you have had a great week.
Is it "all about Christmas" at your house now like mine?
(My daughter slept in reindeer antlers last night, nutcrackers are now action figures, and all my doors jingle.)
Oh, and if you have some good hiding places - let me know! :)

  2. What an awesome post!!!! You got me grinning, remembering the old days when my two were little! Reindeer antlers to bed, ha! I too thought Christmas took forever to arrive when I was a child. Now my husband thinks it shouldn't come til January 25th so we can be ready, heehee. Happy weekend to you and the kiddies! Xo

  4. Love your tree and your background!

How ironic and true that Christmas took forever to get here when we were young...and now there's hardly enough time to get ready! :)
    Great insight!

    Happy PPF!!

  7. Love your trees, and those backgrounds!! Wow,just looking at those makes me want to grab some paint and brushes, so fun!! We made some gingerbread cookies today with the pre-made dough and it was really fun. :) Best hiding place I know of is in a present with a tag to someone else! LOL, I just have to keep track of what package belongs to who! :)

  8. These are looking great! I have only JUST started to take everything out of storage. Usually a few nutcrackers each day until the tree goes up - then EVERYTHING comes out.

In suitcases is one hiding spot...

  19. I am having a hard time getting in the spirit as it's still warm here where we are and Christmas is to be cold. haha! I think we'll be getting cold next week so that will be good as we are going to cut down our tree then.

    Your backgrounds are so pretty!

Have a great day and thank you for stopping by my blog. :o)

  21. I'm a big fan of background making myself, Jen. I love your tissue backgrounds. Also, Your trees are wonderful. I like to make cards with a tree stamp and have the colors fade back into the background. Fun.
I also recall how L-O-N-G it took for Christmas to arrive. No more.

  22. Ahhhh if it was 23 days on 3rd I dare not calculate now lol agree about it coming in the blink of an eye but no christmas yet in our house - probably because it just doesn't feel like christmas yet, my head is still in September lol can't wait to see what your background turns into :) x

  24. Hello Friend!!!
I LOVE what you are working on - and absolutely love the Christmas tissue as background - brilliant! And your canvas is so sweet and nostalgic!
AND SO TRUE - it is just flying by - but if you asked the 6-year-old, it is taking FOREVER!
Good luck with the hiding spaces, xoxo
