Fall Book Page Banner Revisited

Hi my fabulous friends! So many fun and exciting things happening in the studio. Painting, jewelry making, ATC creating. Lots of little goodies headed to the shop on Monday for the relaunch. Super excited about that :) Have you tried making ATC (Artist Trading Cards)?? They are so addicting. Plus that little piece of paper, which is no bigger than a playing card, is not very intimidating at all.

Here are some things I am working on. See those little round silver pendants...one of a kind painted pendants set in silver bezels, under glass dome cabochons. I am really loving how they are turning out! I love that you can walk around with unique wearable art. They will be headed to the shop next week. :)

This week I also wanted to take a step back and revisit a fun tutorial  I wrote last Fall. I loved making an Autumn banner for my mantle using book pages. I LOVE book pages. I know there are a bunch of book page lovers out there too. Who else looks at things and wonder what it would look like under some old paper and Mod Podge. I can't be the only one. :)

Well, anyways...it was a super fun project so I thought I would share it again! Click right here to see! I hope you enjoy it and that fall is putting a smile on your face. We are knee deep in angel costumes, Buzz Lightyear, and pumpkins around here.

Don't forget to visit Sadie Lane Studio on Etsy next Monday the 22nd. Pop on by the blog too for a little surprise. :)

Melting into Fall & Some News

Happy October!

Can you believe it is here already?
I can't...really.

Fall pumpkin tutorial right here.

Just this morning - I was doing the Autumn happy dance, dreaming of boots, smiling at my pumpkins, the smell of cinnamon tickling my nose, pumpkin spice latte in hand...
then I stepped outside (in flip flops).
I literally had to grab the door for support. I thought I might melt right there. Seriously, puddle up right there on my porch from the heat. I know summer in southern California can linger well into September... but, I need summer to pack her bags and head out. I need cool, dreamy fall weather. :)

Well, with Fall excitement in the air I am painting up a storm. I am trying to find any little bit of available time I can to get into my art studio and work. I am painting like a mad woman. :) The super exciting news is that I have decided to have a Re-Grand Opening of my ETSY shop. YIIIPPEE!! MY little shop has been so neglected that I decided to pour some heart and soul into it. I am working hard on new items and beyond excited to share them with you. Soooo...

Come visit Sadie Lane Studio's Etsy Shop
on Monday October 22nd!!!
(and visit me here on the blog too for a special reader coupon! Yay!!)

Super excited!

Instagram of a new journal page. Post coming tomorrow! Find me @sadieinspired

Sometimes you just have to get out there and take steps toward those dreams. Even if the steps are baby steps...it all counts!
Where are you dreams taking you today? Do tell!!

Dream Big! :)

Happy Friday

Tree of Joy - Sold . Thank you!
Yes, yes...Happy Friday to everyone. I hope everybody is well and rested - not fighting the crowds here in the states on Black Friday. If you are - I hope you got what you needed and made it home safely. It can get kinda nuts around here with people trying to get a good deal. I cuddled up with a blanket, cup of coffee, my computer - and STAYED in BED! :)

Ever since my box top tree, I have been slightly obsessed with painting Christmas trees. I have them dancing in my head, not sugar plums. I seriously need to stop. I did paint a little girl. But, I think I need to start painting some snowmen or something. The trees are so much fun though. I think they would make darling little gifts, or maybe painted on little gift tags. Cute, right?
I am all about doing my own gift wrap this year. I did buy one roll -
I HAVE to have something for my hubby. (His wrapping would make you giggle. You can spot it a mile away. lol) But, back to the one roll I bought - it is all trees. See, slightly obsessed! :)

I have been busy finally starting to fill my ETSY shop. It is kinda scary isn't it? I have visited so many beautiful, beautiful shops filled to the brim with gorgeous-ness. It can be very intimidating. But, I remind myself that everyone has to start somewhere. That each one of my little baby steps is one step closer to reaching dreams that for a long time, were to scary to even
put out into the world. I know I will continue to grow and learn. :)
I am SO ok with that!
( Update : Before I even got this post finished, I sold a tree! A cute, little whimsy tree has found a home! Thank you!)

I am really looking forward to traveling around and seeing all the creativity at Paint Party Friday. Plus, I read so many amazing blogs - truly inspiring! Who needs magazines anymore, I have so much to read online! (Well, except Somerset - I need those!) I have also gained new followers, which makes me so excited & happy. When I started this blog, I wanted to experience this wonderful art community & gain new friends. So I thank each and every one of you who take the time to visit, read, look at, and comment on my bloggy home.
(It means the world to me!)

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Moments

WIP
I had to find little bits of fleeting moments to create this week.
My "studio" is in an upstairs loft area in our house.
There is no door to shut, so every time I walked by,
my gorgeous art supplies kept calling to me.
"Come play with me."  :)

I promise this week I will carve out more time to play.

I did get started on some pieces. I used some wooden plaques that I picked up from Michaels this summer. I love that it already had wire for hanging & a frame. Plus, I really LOVE painting on wood. Do you?? If you do, what kinds of wood do you use? I don't know what it is about the wood, but I think it is my favorite thing to paint on.

WIP...not sure which word to use
I am very excited to be working on lots of little goodies to restock my Etsy shop too. I am a little rusty with Etsy so any prayers would be greatly appreciated...lol. If you have any suggestions - I would love it!!

I hope you have had a wonderful weekend!
Jen :)

I am joining some very talented artists at Studio JRU's "in the studio"
I am very happy to be in the company of such inspiration!

I think you are finally here...

Welcome Fall 5x7 canvas board

 I do!
I think Fall may have finally made her entrance.
I live in southern Cal & although it was in the 90's last week...today
it is cool, overcast, and perfect.
I love autumn weather and can't wait for...

changing leaves
cool breezes
boots (although I am a die-hard flip flop wearer)
turtle-neck sweaters
Pumpkin spice lattes (made at home!)
cuddling up in cozy blankets
pumpkin patches
Thanksgiving

I just love it!
Fall used to be my absolute favorite season.
Now, I love each season for their little unique characteristics.
I can't choose a real favorite...but, I am very happy that Fall is here! :)

I am looking forward to carving out some time this week in the studio and to work on my poor little ETSY shop that has been empty for months...
I mean, months
I am really anxious to work in my art journal too. I was watching some wonderful YouTube videos from Roben-Marie. So fun to watch!

I hope you are enjoying the arrival of Fall!!
Do you have any Fall favorites??

  XO,
Jen
